THREE COLOR TRANSFERWARE PLATE MOSS ROSE 1835 Found on a 10 inch plate, this gorgeous pattern is printed in black, pink and brown with a pattern of roses and shells. Although the pattern is fairly rare, I have another plate in this pattern printed in blue, pink and green. There is a 1.5 inch hairline in the border, that is luckily well hidden in the pattern. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. the plate was made by John and Job Jackson in Staffordshire around 1835.

YELLOW AND BLACK TRANSFERWARE PLATE 1835 Found on a 9 inch plate, this pattern is printed in yellow, black, pink, green, purple and blue. This is quite unusual! The most unusual color is yellow, which forms the ground for the lovely border. Other than a few in-the- making flaws (drips of yellow, for example), condition is excellent. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. The plate was probably made in Staffordshire around 1835 to 1840.

RIDGWAY BLUE/BLACK ETRUSCAN FESTOON SOUP Found on a 10 inch soup plate, this pattern is printed in blue and black with a lovely floral print. Entitled "Etruscan Festoon", it was made around 1835 by William Ridgway. Things Etruscan were the rage in the 1830s, but the pattern is actually a lovely floral print. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is an in-the-making glaze drip near the top right rose bud. The other splotch is my flash! Take a look at all of the photos for the details.

THREE COLOR TRANSFERWARE SOUP DAVENPORT 1835 This 10-1/4" soup bowl is beautifully printed in three colors--blue, black and green. The pattern name, printed on the back, is Muleteer. The name of the importer--Henderson & Gaines, New Orleans--is also printed on the back. The soup was made by Davenport in Staffordshire around 1835. It is unusual to have a two color piece let alone a three color transfer! Take a look at all of the photos for the details. There are two chips on the back that do not show on the front. TWO COLOR TRANSFER FESTOON BORDER PL 1835 Enoch Wood & Sons did many variations on two color plates. This 8-1/4" plate is printed in chocolate brown and dark red in the popular Festoon Border Series. As the border contains suspension bridges, sometimes the pattern is called Suspension Bridges. Take a look at the photos to see the bridges as all the bridges are different. I'd love to know the name of the cathdral in the center of the plate. Condition is excellent. It was made in Staffordshire around 1835.

96-1236

TWO COLOR TRANSFER PINK/BLUE GRAVY/TRAY 1830 This is a most unusual pearlware pattern printed in dark blue, medium blue and several shades of pink through red. The tray is 7" by 5" by 1-1/2" and the footed gravy is 7" by 2-1/2" by 3". The pattern name is "Japan" and I can see the influence of Japanese design. There are peonies, prunus and what looks like a little dragon head growing out of the handle of the urn but it might be a fancy leaf! There is gilding on both pieces that highlights the pattern. Other than a tiny nick on the foot of the gravy boat, condition of both pieces is excellent. Both were probably made in Staffordshire around 1830.
