07-4992
VICTORIAN CHINTZ BLUE JUG BIRDS AND FLOWERS Printed in medium and dark blue with birds and flowers, this 7" high and 6" handle to spout jug is unusual. Most of these jugs are printed in shades of purple, green, pink and brown. They are much less common in blue. The pattern is highlighted in pink, green and yellow enamel. There is minor wear to the rim and spout and crazing inside of the jug. Appearance is excellent. Take a look at the photos for the details. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1835-1840.

07-4996
BLUE TRANSFER FOOTBATH JUG CHINTZ PATTERN This huge jug is 17" to the top of the handle and 16" from the handle to the spout! It is printed in light blue with a chintz or sheet pattern comprised of tiny flowers and leaves against a dotted background. The handle and lug handle (to help you hold this heavy jug)are beautifully molded. If you are looking for a rare and stunning item, this is the piece for you! Although appearance is excellent, there is damage. There are repairs to three places on the base of the jug. The color is not a perfect match. There is wear on both handles, but they have never been off. A tight hairline on the inside of the jug does not go through to the outside. Actually, the jug is in rather good shape! Take a look at the photos for the details. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1840. It was made as a companion to a footbath. Imagine the weight when full of water!

07-4976
VICTORIAN CHINTZ PINK AND GREEN SHAMROCK JUG Made in Staffordshire around 1840, this 7-1/2" (to the top of the handle) jug is printed in pink, and painted in darker pink flowers and hunter green shamrocks. The hunter green also outlines the rim, footrim and handle. For accuracy, there is a "Y" shaped line near the waist of the jug, that does not go through to the inside. It is very difficult to see. There is also a bit of wear to the green on the inside tip of the handle. The jug is in excellent condition, nearly perfect! I have lots of Victorian Chintz jugs, but have never seen this pattern before. Take a look at all of the photos for the details.

04-4328
VICTORIAN CHINTZ GREEN JUG C 1840 Printed in a soft, dark green with a pattern that resembles denim, this 8" high by 7-1/2" jug has an exciting design. There are passion flowers and flowers I can't name painted with red, green, yellow and blue enamel over the glaze. Zig-zag lines like lightening cross the jug. The pattern makes me think of fabric made for a beach house in Hawaii or Florida. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or restoration. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1840.

ROYAL PURPLE CHINTZ JUG 1840 Although the pattern of this Victorian Chintz jug is fairly common, the color is not. It is printed in a rich, royal purple rather than magenta purple. The jug stands 5-1/2" high to the top of the handle and is highlighted in yellow and pink. Other than minor wear to the handle, condition is excellent. The handle is beautifully molded and the rim is ruffled. Take a look at the photos to see the details. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1840.

Click for more detail...
03-3946
VICTORIAN CHINTZ TEAL TRANSFER SMALL JUG 1840 This is the smallest Victorian Chintz jug that I am listing. It is 5-1/4" high to the top of the handle, 4-3/4" from the handle to the spout and 3-1/4" in diameter. The molding is unusual as it pops out with flowers and leaves along the rim and the handle. The flowers and leaves are decorated in dark green, yellow and pink making the handle and rim look like 3-D! The teal green transfer of dots, branches, flowers and odd shapes is clobbered in dark pink and yellow. The print on the inside of the jug is like the cells of a honeycomb. There are three places on one side of the jug where the glaze has flaked. This may be seen in the photos. Appearance is excellent. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1840-1850. Take a look at all of the photos for the details.

03-4013
PURPLE TRANSFER VICTORIAN CHINTZ JUG 1835 This jug stands 7-1/4" to the top of the handle, is 7-1/2" from the spout to the handle and is 4-1/2" in diameter. It is printed in a soft purple with large flowers and birds which rest against a background of trefoils. The flowers and birds are enamelled in bright yellow, purple, blue, pink and green. The handle is amazing as it resembles flowers bursting from flowers! At least to me. There are two tiny lines near the handle which do not go through to the other side and minor wear on the handle and on the spout. Appearance is excellent. The bottom is marked "C & R" which probably stands for Chetham and Robinson. Take a look at all of the photos for the details.

03-4087
VIC CHINTZ BLACK TRANSFER/LION HEAD SPOUT JUG This jug has everything! It is 7" to the top of the handle, 7" from the handle to the spout and 3-1/2" in diameter. The jug is transfer printed in black with flowers, leaves and what look like either shell or butterflies! The pattern is brightly clobbered with blue, pink, yellow and green enamels. The best part is the spout which is a molded lion head that the painter decided to paint in real lion colors. His mane and face are a mustard yellow with black highlights and his eyes and nose are also black. This is most charming--to me. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1840-1850. Condition is excellent. Take a look at all of the photos for the details.
