07-4996

BLUE TRANSFER FOOTBATH JUG CHINTZ PATTERN This huge jug is 17" to the top of the handle and 16" from the handle to the spout! It is printed in light blue with a chintz or sheet pattern comprised of tiny flowers and leaves against a dotted background. The handle and lug handle (to help you hold this heavy jug)are beautifully molded. If you are looking for a rare and stunning item, this is the piece for you! Although appearance is excellent, there is damage. There are repairs to three places on the base of the jug. The color is not a perfect match. There is wear on both handles, but they have never been off. A tight hairline on the inside of the jug does not go through to the outside. Actually, the jug is in rather good shape! Take a look at the photos for the details. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1840. It was made as a companion to a footbath. Imagine the weight when full of water!

07-4985

BLUE TRANSFER SAUCE TUREEN BRITISH FLOWERS This pearlware sauce tureen is 6-1/2" high to the top of the finial. It is printed in medium and dark blue with a lovely pattern entitled "British Flowers". The roses and leaves that form the finial and handles are highlighted in gold. The undertray is attached to the base of the tureen. Although appearance is excellent, there is some damage. The finial has been reattached, there is a 1/1/2" tight hairline on one side, there is a chip to one handle on the base, and one handle on the undertray has been damaged and glued together. Take a look at the photos for the details. The tureen was probably made in Staffordshire around 1825.

05-4509

SPODE COPELAND & GARRETT BLUE JUG 1840 Printed in an overall or sheet pattern, this 9" jug is covered in flowers and vines against a plaid-like grid. The shades of blue vary between medium and dark. The jug is being sold as is. There are repairs at the bottom and the top of the handle as well as two nicks inside the spout and one tiny nick on the base. Appearance is still excellent, and the price refects the condition. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. The jug was made by Copeland and Garrett, late Spode around 1840.

A-129

MASON'S IRONSTONE PLATE C 1830 This 9-1/4" ironstone plate was made by the Mason's Factory in Staffordshire around 1830. It has an impressed line mark--"Mason's Patent Ironstone China"--on the back. Condition is quite good with no chips, cracks or restoration. The orange, however, on the center of the plate is very worn. Appearance is still very nice. This would make an excellent reasonably priced addition to your Mason's or ironstone collection. Take a look at the photos for the details.

04-4233

PORCELAIN TEAPOT NEWHALL CHINOISERIE 1820 I'm actually not sure if this porcelain teapot was made by the Newhall Factory. It is beautifully printed in underglaze blue and clobbered over the glaze in pink, red, green, yellow and salmon. The Chinoiserie pattern is the same on both sides and the border has large butterflies and flowers. The shape is quite unusual as it bulges out gently from the rim and more so at the waist. Like some people I know! The handle, finial and spout are in excellent condition. There are hairline cracks on the base that continue onto the sides of the pot. However, the cracks disappear into the pattern and appearance is excellent. Take a look at all of the photos to see the details. The teapot was probably made in Staffordshire around 1820-1830. The mark on the bottom of the pot was made to look like a Chinese mark.

SPODE CHINESE TROPHIES WASH BOWL C1820 A pearlware washbowl in the Chinese Trophies pattern made by Spode in Staffordshire around 1820. The bowl is 14" in diameter and 5" high. It is printed in blue and painted in a yellow/orange under the glaze. It is magnificent. However, it was smashed in shipping--I think it was used as a football! The pieces were glued and stabilzed but the damage shows. I have been using the bowl as a center piece and to hold potato chips or fruit. This is a rare item that can be had for a reasonable price.
