SPODE INDIAN SPORTING WELL AND TREE PLATTER This 20.5 inch by 16 inch well and tree pearlware platter was made by Spode around 1820. The platter is part of a large hunting series entitled the "Indian Sporting Series". The pattern name is "Shooting A Leopard". I like to think that the leopard gets away! There is a restored crack in the foliage in the bottom left of the platter. It is very difficult to see. Appearance is excellent. The border is filled with charming animals. Take a look at all of the photos for the details.

SPODE UNION WREATH 3 BLUE TRANSFER PLATTER This 16.5 by 13 inch platter was printed by Spode around 1823. Even though it is known as Union Wreath 3, it is earlier than Union Wreath 1 or 2. The pattern name refers to the symbols of Great Britain; the rose of England, the thistle of Scotland and the shamrock of Ireland. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks or repairs. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. The platter is marked with both an inpressed "Spode" mark and a blue printed mark.

07-5080

LIONS ZOOLOGICAL BLUE TRANSFER PLATTER This 17-1/4" by 14" blue transferware platter is printed in medium blue with the pattern "Zoological". The series was made to commemorate the opening of the London Zoological Gardens in 1828. Each size and shape depicts a different zoo scene. It would be fun to collect them all! Condition is excellent, although there is a small pit (in the making) on the border. The lions have friendly, human-like faces. I hope the man isn't trying to feed them. If you like animal prints or lions, this is the platter for you. It was made by Robinson, Wood & Brownfield in Staffordshire around 1835.

If anyone knows the view, please contact me. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks or restoration. If you have been looking for a spectacular early blue transferware platter, this is the one for you! The pattern contains cows, a horseman, people, mountains and a church/cathedral.

DAVENPORT CHINOISERIE BLUE TRANSFER PLATTER This 16-1/2" by 12-1/4" pearlware platter was made in Staffordshire by Davenport around 1820. It is printed in medium blue with a Chinoiserie pattern that is really more of a transitional pattern between Chinese patterns and English patterns. Although the foliage appears Chinese, the buildings and people look quite English! Other than a tiny flake at the very edge of the platter at two o'clock, condition is excellent. Take a look at all of the photos for the details.

RIDGWAY BLUE TRANSFERWARE PLATTER BIRDS This lovely pearlware 16-1/2" by 13-1/2" platter is printed in medium and light blue with a pattern entitled Etruscan Shield. I'm not sure what the shield is all about, but things Etruscan were all the rage in the 1830s. The birds are in a shield-like cartouche interspersed with roses against a milles fleurs background. The border has feather-like flourishes and more flowers. This is a gorgeous pattern! The edges of the platter are gently scalloped. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. Condition of the platter is excellent. The platter was made in Staffordshire around 1835.

06-4805

PAIR ROGERS BOSTON STATE HOUSE CHARGERS 1825 A charger in early blue is rare, but a pair of historical chargers is rarer still! They are each nearly 13" in diameter, and are printed in Rogers Boston State House pattern. Although appearance is excellent, each has had minor restoration to hairlines. One has an in-the-making flaw in the inner rim at 1 o'clock. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. If you are looking for rare historical items, these are the pieces for you! The chargers were made in Staffordshire around 1825. I doubt there are still cows on Boston Common!

06-4804

ROGERS BOSTON STATE HOUSE ROUND CHARGER 1825 Chargers are a fairly uncommon form in early transferware. This nearly 15" charger is even more unusual, as it is an historical pattern. It is printed with Rogers Boston State house, which was made in Staffordshire around 1825. Although appearance is excellent, there has been restoration to a hairline at about 7 o'clock. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. If you like unusual historical items, this is the piece for you! Cows on Boston Common!

06-4786

CHINOISERIE DAVENPORT BLUE TRANFER PLATTER This lovely blue transferware pearlware 16-1/2" by 13" platter was made by Davenport in Staffordshire around 1820. It is printed in soft blue with an unknown to me Chinoiserie scene. Other than a 2" tight hairline at 7 o'clock, that is mostly visible on the back, and a chip in the foliage under the flower at 12 o'clock, condition is excellent. It is difficult to see either flae. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. The back has an impressed Davenport mark.
Thanks to Dora Landey and Loren Zeller, I now know that the pattern name is "View of the Imperial Park at Gehol". This is an actual view rather than an imaginary one.
