CLEWS SOUP TUREEN BLUE TRANSFERWARE 1825 This huge and gorgeous pearlware soup tureen and undertray were made by James and Ralph Clews in Staffordshire around 1825. There is an impressed Clews mark with a crown on the underside of the tray. The tureen is 16" from handle to handle, 12" high and 10" wide. The undertray in 15-1/2" by 12". There is a raised oval in the center of the undertray to hold the tureen. The undertray and tureen together are 14" high. The pattern is Tivoli. The ancient Tivoli ruins are outside of Rome. This was a popular pattern in the early 19th century, and it was used by other potters. Although the undertray and the tureen have always been together, the tureen is printed a bit lighter than the undertray. There is a bit of glaze wear on a highpoint on the lid. There is also a firing line on the undertray that was done in the making. It cannot be seen when the tureen is sitting on it. Condition and appearance are excellent. If you have been wanting an early blue soup tureen, this is the item for you! It can hold soup or flowers. What an excellent centerpiece!

BLUE TRANSFER FLORAL/GEOMETRIC BOWL 1820 This 10" diameter by 4-1/2" high pearlware bowl is printed in dark blue with stylized flowers and leaves. The dark blue of the flowers is set off by the narrow band of dark red that lines the rim of the bowl. There is a little wear in the bottom of the bowl, as the bowl was probably used for salad. There is also a good repair to two chips on the bottom rim. These are not visible when the bowl is standing. Appearance is excellent. Take a look at the photos for the details. If you are looking for an unusual graphic pattern and a useful bowl, this is the item for you! The bowl was probably made around 1820.

BLUE TRANSFER SAUCE TUREEN BRITISH FLOWERS This pearlware sauce tureen is 6-1/2" high to the top of the finial. It is printed in medium and dark blue with a lovely pattern entitled "British Flowers". The roses and leaves that form the finial and handles are highlighted in gold. The undertray is attached to the base of the tureen. Although appearance is excellent, there is some damage. The finial has been reattached, there is a 1/1/2" tight hairline on one side, there is a chip to one handle on the base, and one handle on the undertray has been damaged and glued together. Take a look at the photos for the details. The tureen was probably made in Staffordshire around 1825.

ADAMS SOUP TUREEN DARK BLUE LADLE 1825 Ladles are usually missing from sauce and soup tureens as they are so fragile. This dark blue transferware soup tureen lade is from Adam's Regent's Park Series, and dates from about 1825. The bowl of the ladle is 3-3/4" and depicts foliage. The ladle is overall about 9". There are three places where the glaze didn't cover the ladle; on the outside rim of the bowl, the side of the bottom of the handle and at the top of the handle. There are no cracks, and the handle has never been off. Appearance is excellent. If you are looking for a soup ladle for your historical dark blue soup tureen, this is the item for you! PEARLWARE BLUE TRANSFER VEG TUREEN VIGNETTE This vegetable tureen, which is part of the "Vignette" service I am listing, is 12-1/2" by 9" and 8" high to the top of the flower shaped finial on the lid. It has four different pattern, one on the bottom of the base, two on the sides of the base and one on the lid. All are lovely prints of rural scenes. I have two of these tureens. Other than two minor chips under the handle on the base, condition is excellent with no other chips, cracks or restoration. The tureen was made in Staffordshire by John Bagster around 1820. RILEY FEEDING CHICKENS PITCHER & BOWL C 1825 This pearlware wash pitcher and bowl were made by the Riley factory in Staffordshire around 1825. The pattern is known as "Feeding Chickens" and it is one of those wonderful scenes of country life in early 19th century England. The bowl is 13-1/2" in diameter and 6" high. There is a 1-1/2" chip on the rim that has been glued back on. It looks fine from the front but is rather visible from the back. There is also a chip on the footrim. You can see the chips in the photos. There is also a yellowish stain in the bowl that was done in the firing. The jug is 11" to the top of the handle and 9" from the spout to the handle. Condition is excellent. Appearance of both pieces is superb. If you like country charm, this is the item for you!
 

PEARLWARE SUGAR BOWL WITH COWS C 1825 This pearlware blue and white transferware sugar bowl has a wonderful print of a stately home with big cows grazing in front of it. The pattern looks as if it should be a famous historical building but no one has been able to identify it. Help me if you can! The handles are quite unusual. I have never seen this form before. One of them has been off and glued back on. Other than that, condition of the piece is excellent. The sugar bowl was probably made in Staffordshire around 1820.
 

CHINOISERIE PEARLWARE OPEN VEG C 1820 This lovely Chinoiserie 12" by 8-1/2" open vegetable pearlware bowl was made in Staffordshire around 1820-1830. The pattern is very unusual as the people are not the common stick figures. If you look closely, you may see a coffee pot in the window! Condition is excellent and this piece is one that can be used on your table.
 

Dr. Syntax Setting Our On His First Tour Veg This pearlware 11" square vegetable bowl is yet another example of the Dr.Syntax series that was made by the Clews factory around 1825. The stilt marks are prominent and there is some wear on the edges of the bowl. There probably was a cover. Other than that, condition of this hard to find view is excellent.
 

Cat/Dog/Child Bowl This 9-1/2" diameter bowl has the most charming border which includes a child with his arms around a cat while a dog looks on. The bowl was made in Staffordshire around 1825 and has some dings that don't detract from the overall appearance of the piece.
