RIDGWAY PORTLAND BASKET TRANSFER PLATE 1825 Plate, 10 inches. The pattern was made by John & William Ridgway in Staffordshire (1813-1830). It is printed in blue and clobbered over the glaze in red, purple, yellow and green. The flower arrangement in the center is surrounded by a border of roses and butterflies. There is a molded floral border. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks or repairs. I have four smaller plates in this pattern for sale.

BLUE TRANSFER CHILD'S PLATE THE SENTINEL Plate, 5.5 inches. The charming blue printed pattern of sleeping boy and hovering dog is surrounded by a molded floral border painted over the glaze in bright colors. It is aptly titled "The Sentinel", as the dog is guarding the sleeping boy. Condition of the plate is excellent, with no chips, cracks or repairs. The plate is impressed with the maker's mark for Podmore, Walker & Co. It was made in Staffordshire around 1835-1845.

Feather Edge Child's Plate Cuckoo Pattern Plate, 5.25 inches. This pearlware plate is edged with a molded and blue painted border and has a printed blue tranfer pattern of a cuckoo in the center. The plate was made in England in the first quarter of the 19th century. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks or repairs. If you collect children's patterns or animals patterns, this is the plate for you!

BLUE TRANSFER MOSAIC TRACERY PLATE CLEWS 1830 Plate, 8 inches. The pattern is quite unusual. The flowers spread from an elaborate vase to the stringing at the top of the plate. The blues range from medium to dark. Condition is excellent. The brown spot near the border at the bottom right was done in the making. It is under the glaze. The plate was made by James and Ralph Clews in Staffordshire around 1830.

WOOD SPORTING SERIES ZEBRA PLATE 1825 This 8.25 inch pearlware plate is printed with a pattern that is part of a large series depicting sporting scenes and animals. Each size and shape has a different center pattern. The zebra is one of the rarer patterns. Although there are no cracks, chips or repairs, there is some minor scratching to the center. This is mostly obvious when tilted in the light. The plate was made by Enoch Wood & Sons around 1825.

It is part of a large series where each size has a different pattern. Each piece is marked with the pattern name on the back. This one is "Knighthood Confer'd (sic) on Don Quixote". Other than wear to the rim and some nicks on the footrim, appearance is excellent. The actual piece is darker than the photos.
