ADAMS TENDRIL PATTERN BLUE TRANSFER JUG
Made by Benjamin Adams in Staffordshire around 1820, this pearlware jug is printed in the Tendril pattern. It is 6 inches high and 6 inches from the handle to the spout. BLUE TRANSFER MOTHS PATTERN CUP/SAUCER
A rare pattern of four moths or butterflies covers this 5.75 inch saucer and cup. The pearlware cup and saucer is printed in dark blue with lots of contrast. There are some tiny nicks to the rim of the cup. Appearance is excellent. The cup and saucer were probably made in Staffordshire around 1825-1830. Look at the other photos for details of the pattern.

DON QUIXOTE BLUE TRANSFER SOUP 1825
This 9-3/4" pearlware soup bowl is printed in dark blue with a scene from Cervantes' novel, "Don Quixote". It is part of a large series where each size has a different pattern. Each piece is marked with the pattern name on the back. This one is "Knighthood Confer'd (sic) on Don Quixote". Other than wear to the rim and some nicks on the footrim, appearance is excellent. The actual piece is darker than the photos.

DON QUIXOTE BLUE TRANSFER SOUP 1825
This 8-3/4" soup bowl is printed in dark blue with excellent contrast. It is possible that it was made in Staffordshire by Davenport. The soup is part of a large series that depicts a different scene on every size and shape from Cervantes book "Don Quixote". Printed on the back is the pattern name, "Don Quixote and Sancho Panza". Other than a bit of wear on the footrim, condition is excellent. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. Take a look at the photos for the details.

DAVENPORT BOTANICAL JUG BLUE TRANSFER 1830
This large pearlware jug was made in Staffordshire by Davenport around 1830. It is 9" high, 8" from the spout to the handle and 4" wide. The medium blue print depicts a large urn filled to overflowing with flowers. There is a worm placed on the left of the urn! I hope he doesn't eat the flowers! The border is filled with large fruit and flowers. There is an excellent repair to a chip on the inside of the spout and some thin lines to the base. Appearance is excellent. If you like gorgeous botanical prints, this is the item for you!

DAVENPORT BLUE TRANSFERWARE CHARGER 1820
Known as The Villagers, this pearlware 14-1/2" charger is printed in medium blue. It was made by Davenport in Staffordshire around 1820. Chargers are much less common in early blue than platters. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks or repairs.

BLUE TRANSFER TOAST WATER JUG 1825
This pearlware toast water jug is nearly 9" to the top of the lid, 8-1/4" from the spout to the handle and 4-1/2" in diameter It is printed in medium to dark blue with a version of the Blue Italian pattern, made popular by Spode. This version has a floral border, and most likely was made by Stubbs. Appearance is excellent, but there are a few flaws. There is a break on the strainer on the inside of the spout, a loss of glaze on the handle, and a small in-the-making spot where the jug stuck to something when it was being fired. Burnt toast in water was used to settle the stomach. The strainer prevented the pieces of toast from getting into the liquid. The lid kept the liquid hot. Take a look at the photos for the details. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1825-1830. I don't think I have ever seen such a large toast water jug!

BLUE TRANSFER BOTANICAL PLATE 1825
This 8" pearlware soup bowl is printed in medium to dark blue with a lovely botanical sheet pattern. The flowers are sometimes referred to as sweetpeas, but they don't look like the sweetpeas in my garden! These are however, stylized flowers, so perhaps they are sweetpeas. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks or repairs. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. The soup was probably made in Staffordshire around 1825.

CLEWS SOUP TUREEN BLUE TRANSFERWARE 1825
This huge and gorgeous pearlware soup tureen and undertray were made by James and Ralph Clews in Staffordshire around 1825. There is an impressed Clews mark with a crown on the underside of the tray. The tureen is 16" from handle to handle, 12" high and 10" wide. The undertray in 15-1/2" by 12". There is a raised oval in the center of the undertray to hold the tureen. The undertray and tureen together are 14" high. The pattern is Tivoli. The ancient Tivoli ruins are outside of Rome. This was a popular pattern in the early 19th century, and it was used by other potters. Although the undertray and the tureen have always been together, the tureen is printed a bit lighter than the undertray. There is a bit of glaze wear on a highpoint on the lid. There is also a firing line on the undertray that was done in the making. It cannot be seen when the tureen is sitting on it. Condition and appearance are excellent. If you have been wanting an early blue soup tureen, this is the item for you! It can hold soup or flowers. What an excellent centerpiece!

BEEHIVE AND VASES BLUE TRANSFER PLATE 1825
This 8" pearlware plate is printed dark blue in a lovely pattern that is known as Beehive and Vases. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks or repairs. I have two of these plates for sale. BEWICK STAG BLUE TRANSFERWARE PLATE 1820
This 9-1/2" pearlware plate is printed in blue with the pattern known as Bewick Stag. The pattern is copied from the work of Thomas Bewick. The stag or red deer stands in the foreground, while three other deer are in the background. The border is unusual, as it comprises vignettes of animals. Some of these vignettes are also copied from the work of Bewick. Condition of the plate is excellent, with no chips, cracks or repairs. The plate was probably made in Staffordshire around 1820. If you are looking for a gorgeous animal print on blue pottery, this is the plate for you!

PEARLWARE BLUE TRANSFER LOVERS PLATE 1825
I rarely say a pattern is unique, but this pearlware 10" plate's pattern is probably one of a kind. There are initials in the center of the plate with two hearts on either side connected by an arrow (Cupid's). My educated guess is that the plate was either an engagement gift or wedding present. The central initials are surrounded by bouquets of flowers, which are also surrounded by a floral border. Take a look at the photos for the details. Condition is excellent. If you are looking for an unusual plate for your collection, this is the one for you!
