PURPLE TRANSFER BASKET AND UNDERTRAY NAPIER It is unusual to find a basket and undertray in a color other than blue. The color of this basket and undertray is a rich, almost royal, purple. The basket is 12 inches from handle to handle and 8.75 inches wide. The undertray is 10.75 inches by 8.75 inches. There are two hairlines in the rim of the basket and one tiny hairline in the rim of the undertray. There is a small amount of restoration around the hairlines. The hairlines and restoration are barely visible. Appearance is excellent. The pattern name is "Napier". Napier was a British general. The basket and undertray were made by John and George Alcock in Staffordshire between 1839-1846.

ANTIQUARIAN PATTERN PURPLE TRANFER PLATTER Made by Thomas Fell & Co in Staffordshire around 1835, this 10-1/2" by 8-1/2" platter is printed in magenta purple with deer, ruins, trees and flowers. The pattern name is "Antiquarian". This is a serial pattern, with each size and shape having a different ruin and deer in different poses. Small platters are fairly rare, so this might be the one for you! Condition is excellent. Take a look at the photos for the details.

VICTORIAN CHINTZ PURPLE JUG C 1840 This Victorian chintz jug is 5-1/2" to the top of the handle. It is printed in purple with birds and urns that are clobbered in blue, green, yellow and pink enamel. The jug is also molded with flowers under the rim and arches around the waist. The handle is molded, printed and clobbered. The print inside the jug includes faces and people! Other than a tiny bit of staining at the spout, condition is excellent. Take a look at the photos for the details. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1835-1840.

PURPLE TRANSFERWARE HARVEST JUG C 1835 Printed in purple with farm implements and bees and chickens, this 5-1/4" to the top of the handle jug is clobbered in orange, blue, green and yellow enamel. If you like farm items or country items, this is the jug for you! The jug (pitcher) is being sold as is because there is wear to the blue enamel around the top edge of the jug as well as a tiny tight hairline in the spout. There are also chips on the bottom of the jug (not seen when the jug is standing. Take a look at the photos for the details. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1835.

MILLENIUM PURPLE TRANSFERWARE PLATE 1835 Entitled "Millenium" without the extra "n", this 9" plate is printed in magenta purple with a charming Biblical scene. The scene is from Isaiah, where the child leads a lion, the lamb and the leopard and the wolf and the sheep lie down together, etc. "Peace on Earth" are the words above the scene, and "Give us this day our daily bread" are below. The plate and sentiment are right for this and every season. Millenium is one of the most popular patterns. It was printed in almost every color. Other than a 1" chip on the footrim, condition is excellent. Take a look at all of the photos for the details.

PINK LUSTRE JUG WITH HORSE 1830 This lovely 4-1/2" jug is printed in purple and decorated with pink lustre. The pattern is unusual, as it pays tribute to "The English Bred Horse, "The Farmers (sic) Friend". The other side of the jug contains a verse that makes it clear that everything depends on the "spade and the plough" (and the horse). This is a charming jug. If you like horses and farming items, this is the jug for you! Other than a tiny nick on the spout, condition is excellent. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1830-1840.

R. HALL PARISIAN CHATEAU PURPLE TRANFER PLATE This 8-1/2" plate was made by Ralph Hall in Staffordshire around 1835. It is printed in a deep magenta purple. The romantic scene is lovely, but the border with its stripes, flowers and quilted pattern is dramatic. I have four of these plates in stock. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. There are tiny edge repairs to all of the plates. Appearance is excellent.

PURPLE TRANSFERWARE PLATTER RIDGWAY BEAUTIES Made around 1850 by the Ridgway Factory in Staffordshire, this 13" by 11" platter is named "Beauties". The pattern is beautifully printed in a dark mulberry. Notice the unusual border which reminds me of Victorian lace.

ADAMS PALESTINE SMALL PURPLE PLATE 1835 This 5" pearlware plate is a rare size to find in early transferware. Although the plate is not marked, it is printed in magenta purple in the "Palestine" pattern. There is a tiny nick at about 6 o'clock which is so small that I didn't notice it until now. I am just mentioning it for the record. The plate was made in Staffordshire by the Adams Factory around 1835.

Made by Enoch Wood & Sons in Staffordshire, the series is called Celtic China which includes many different view of historic America. The border is charming with a pattern of fruit and flowers on a molded rim. Condition is excellent.

ADAMS PURPLE TRANSFER HARVEST JUG 1830 This beautifully molded pearlware jug is 9" high to the top of the handle, 9-1/2" from the handle to the spout and 5" across. It is printed in a rich magenta purple with a scene know as "Harvest". The charming bucolic scene shows men and women harvesting hay. There are bunches of flowers around the rim, under the spout, on the handle and inside the jug. There is a lovely leaf like detail printed on the base. The jug appears perfect but inside one can see four hairline cracks that go through to the front but can barely be seen. The cracks have been stabilized so that the jug is sound. The jug was made in Staffordshire by the Adams Factory in the 1830's. Take a look at all five of the photos to see the details of the pattern. If you like English country scenes, this is the piece for you!

PURPLE TRANSFER PAIR OF KNIFE REST C 1835 Here is a pair of Romantic Staffordshire pearlware knife rest printed in purple. Purple is a rare color for knife rests. The rests are 3-3/4" by 1". One of the rests is damaged which a large chip off of one end. The other is in excellent condition. They were probably made in Staffordshire around 1835.
