The 6" Staffordshire child's plate was made in the first half of the 19th century as a teaching tool for children. There are two maxims on this blue printed plate--Sloth like rust consumes faster than labour wears While the used Key is alwys bright" and "God helps them that help themselves Lost time is never found again". Other than a stabilized 1/4" hairline this plate is in excellent condition.
