Manufacturer: Maker Unknown This unusual early 19th century Staffordshire child's plate is entitled " The Village Wedding". The rhyme is "Hark how the Bells are ringing, the fiddler plays right Well. The Johns and Molls, are singing, and all goes off right well." The border of this 7-1/2" plate has molded animals and flowers and except for a 1/2" hairline at 3 o'clock the condition is excellent. This plate would make a wonderful wedding gift!
