This 7-1/4" high gaudy welsh jug in the Llanelly Poppy pattern is large and colorful. It is 8-1/4" from handle to spout. It is well molded and the colors are blue, orange and green with copper and pink lustre detail. Condition is good with only a one inch hairline where the handle meets to body of the jug, minor wear on the handle and the spout and a small chip on the handle. This sounds worse than it is but I'm trying to be accurate in describing blemishes. The jug was probably made is Swansea, Wales in 1840. |
