This large 8" pearlware jug is unusual as it has a chinoiserie pattern printed in black and painted over in blue, green, orange and pink lustre. There is also a wonderful stylized flower painted in pink lustre under the spout. The pattern is the same on both sides. There is a large crack that meanders under the spout from one side to the other that has been stabilized. There are also cracks on the bottom that do not go through to the inside. This sounds terrible but appearance is excellent. The jug was made in Staffordshire somewhere between 1820 and 1830.
