A wonderful pearlware 6-1/2" child's plate entitled "The Partridge" probably made in Staffordshire around 1830. This is one of the most brightly colored and charming children's plates in my inventory. Even though it is called "The Partridge", there are three partridges! The border has different songbirds and deer. The plate is transfer printed in red with hand colored enamels in yellow, green, brown and blue. There is an "X" shaped line on the back the doesn't go through to the front. Other than that, this plate is in excellent condition. Take a look at all of the photos to see the details. |
