A lovely blue and white transferware pearlware pepper pot probably made in Staffordshire around 1830. It is 4" high and is decorated with stylized flowers and leaves in various shades of blue that range from light to dark. The foot has been extensively repaired by an enthusiastic amateur! Appearance is actually quite good. The body is molded with a rope design and the pot is topped with a button printed with a daisy. Pepper pots are not common and the salt would have been served in a dish. |
