A 6-1/2" pearlware child's plate beautifully printed in soft medium to dark blue. The double printed pattern is one of cabbage roses just about to fully open. Detail is excellent. The raised border of leaves and flowers is enamelled in orange and green with pink lustre on the rim. Other than a glaze pop that has discolored, a chip on the foot rim and stilt marks, condition is excellent. The plate was probably made in Staffordshire around 1830. It is unusual and the colors and design are outstanding. |
