| A delightful and rare dark blue pearlware 3-3/4" knife rest with heart shaped ends made by John Meir (1812-1836) in Staffordshire around 1830. The pattern is one of overall small circles on a molded form that has a heart on each end. The bottom of the knife rest has the impressed mark--Meir. There are two small nicks on the edge of the rest and a chip on the bottom which is not visible unless you turn it over. Appearance is excellent. I have two of these rests. If you collect knife rests, unusual pearlware or blue and white items, this is the one for you! |
