| This 4-1/2" pearlware pepper pot was made in Staffordshire around 1825 by either Adams or Clews. Pepper pots are fairly rare and dark blue ones are rarer still. This one is printed with a basket of flowers on one side and a vase with a chinese figure on the other. The background is a lovely stippled blue. Condition is excellent which is also quite rare for these utilitarian little items. Other than a glazed over chip under the collar and a small nick next to it, the pepper pot is nearly perfect. Even the holes in the top are in good condition. If you like rare and charming small pieces of old blue, this is the piece for you! Take a look at all four of the photos for the details. |
