Hunting ostriches must be an acquired taste! This red and white 9-1/4" plate was made by Enoch Wood & Sons in Staffordshire around 1830. The pattern name is Belzoni. Each size and shape in this series has a different center scene surrounded by a border of reserves containing hunting scenes punctuated by reserves of grapes, grape leaves and flowers. Other than a small flake on the edge at about four o'clock, condition is excellent. |
