A 20-1/2" by 16" pearlware platter is a sheet pattern comprising sylized flowers, leaves and curlicues against a dotted background. What a wonderful design! There is a small repair to the pattern at about 6 o'clock. Appearance is excellent. I have the same pattern in a soup bowl in this catalog which is clobbered. I didn't realize this was the same pattern for quite awhile as it looks so different with the added colors. The platter was probably made in Staffordshire around 1820. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. |
