This lovely dark blue pearlware transfer printed jug was made by Clews in Staffordshire around 1825. The pattern has a basket of lush flowers against a stippled ground on one side and a vase with a chinese figure on the other. This side also includes shells and vines. The jug is 7" to the top of the handle, 7-1/2" from the handle to the spout and 4-1/2" in diameter. Condition is nearly mint with only a tiny bit of wear to the blue on the inside edge of the jug--less than a quater of an inch. Take a look at all five of the photos for the details. |
