This is the smallest Victorian Chintz jug that I am listing. It is 5-1/4" high to the top of the handle, 4-3/4" from the handle to the spout and 3-1/4" in diameter. The molding is unusual as it pops out with flowers and leaves along the rim and the handle. The flowers and leaves are decorated in dark green, yellow and pink making the handle and rim look like 3-D! The teal green transfer of dots, branches, flowers and odd shapes is clobbered in dark pink and yellow. The print on the inside of the jug is like the cells of a honeycomb. There are three places on one side of the jug where the glaze has flaked. This may be seen in the photos. Appearance is excellent. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1840-1850. Take a look at all of the photos for the details.
