This lovely silver lustre pearlware teapot has wonderful detail. It is finely molded with an arcaded rim and arches on the body. Dipped in silver lustre which is actually platinum which doesn't tarnish, the pattern is covered in wax. This process is known as resist as the wax and thus the pattern resist the lustre. The spout has a few small chips and the finial has been reglued. Other than very minor wear to the lustre, condition and appearance are excellent. If you collect lustre, this is the piece for you! The teapot was probably made in Staffordshire around 1820-1825.
