| I'm actually not sure if this porcelain teapot was made by the Newhall Factory. It is beautifully printed in underglaze blue and clobbered over the glaze in pink, red, green, yellow and salmon. The Chinoiserie pattern is the same on both sides and the border has large butterflies and flowers. The shape is quite unusual as it bulges out gently from the rim and more so at the waist. Like some people I know! The handle, finial and spout are in excellent condition. There are hairline cracks on the base that continue onto the sides of the pot. However, the cracks disappear into the pattern and appearance is excellent. Take a look at all of the photos to see the details. The teapot was probably made in Staffordshire around 1820-1830. The mark on the bottom of the pot was made to look like a Chinese mark. |
