Aesops Fables is a very popular series. It was made by Spode and continued by Copeland & Garrett. This nearly 10" plate was made by Copeland & Garrett around 1835. It has both a printed and impressed maker's mark as well as a printed title. The pattern is "The Fox and the Lion". It is fun to look up the fables on the Internet! Condition is excellent except for a tiny nick at about 10:00 o'clock. Take a look at all of the details. I will add that the green transfer is particularly vibrant!
