| This large pink luster jug is 8" to the top of the spout and 9" from the spout to the handle. It is printed on one side with a view of the Iron Bridge in Sunderland, the "Sailor's Farewell" on the other side and another sailor's poem under the spout. The jug is printed in black and painted over the glaze in pink lustre, green, and burnt orange. There has been restoration to the collar and the spout. The restoration which is excellent was done before I owned the jug. Appearance of the jug is wonderful. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. It is difficult to take good photos of shiny lustre so there is a lot of flash interference. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1840-1850 |
