Here is one of ten tiles from Minton, Hollins & Co circa 1870. They are from the rare Nursery Rhymes series designed by Mohr Smith, and were originally part of a fireplace surround. This 6" tile depicts one of my favorite nursery rhymes, Humpty Dumpty. There is wonderful Victorian detail which I have tried to show in many photos. Look for Mohr Smith's initials and an egg being served to Humpty Dumpty. Condition is very good, and appearance is excellent. If you collect children's items or literary items, these are the tiles for you! The print is a dark, chocolate brown against a cream background.
