Here is one of ten tiles from Minton, Hollins & Co circa 1870. They are from the rare Nursery Rhymes series designed by Mohr Smith, and were originally part of a fireplace surround. This 6" tile depicts The Queen of Hearts. The knave of Hearts looks more interested in the Queen than the tarts! Look for Mohr Smith's initials. Condition is very good . Appearance is excellent. If you collect children's items or literary items, these are the tiles for you! The print is a dark, chocolate brown against a cream background.
