| This huge blue transfer pearlware teapot is 8-1/2" high and 12" from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle. The teapot was made by William Adams & Sons around 1825 and is part of the Foliage and Rock Border Series. The pattern is known as Gables Farm. Condition is as follows. There are nicks on the spout and on the inside of the rim where the lid rests. A hairline meanders under the spout onto the bottom of the pot. There is a small chip on the rim. Other than a filled-in chip on the edge, the lid is in excellent condition and does have a steam hole. Although the condition sounds awful, appearance is excellent. The dark blue masks the chips, and the hairline doesn't affect the integrity of the pot. If you like early, gutsy dark blue, this is the piece for you! Take a look at all of the photos for the details. The pot is impressed Adams on the bottom. |
