The Beemaster pattern is one of my favorites. It combines an English country scene complete with dogs surrounded by an animal border. An English friend thought this might be a wedding pattern as a beehive was a traditional wedding gift. To paraphrase Jonathan Swift, a bee and thus the beehive offers both sweetness and light! Other than an in-the-making cobalt drip in the white sky, condition of the nearly 9-1/2" soup is excellent with no chips, cracks or restoration. The soup was probably made in Staffordshire around 1820. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. |
