This unusual item is nearly 7" high and has a screw top! It is printed in light to medium blue with a lovely floral pattern. It was used to hold treacle which is a form of molasses. Treacle was cheaper than sugar, and thus a less expensive sweetener. Other than a minor repair to the inside of the lid, condition is excellent. If you like rare items in old blue, this is the one for you! The treacle pot was probably made in Staffordshire around 1840.
