| This is truly one of my favorite patterns. I used the pattern as part of my logo for Merlin Antiques. This 17" by 13" pearlware platter is printed in medium to dark blue with a pastoral pattern that includes a piping shepherd, his family, sheep and a country house in the background. The pattern is actually known as "Pastoral". It was made by Phillips around 1825. Other than a glaze scrape on the edge at 1 o'clock, and a similar loss on the inner rim at 10 o'clock, condition is excellent. I mention these defects for accuracy as they don't detract from the beauty of the platter. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. If you are looking for the epitome of English country scenes, this is the platter for you! |
