James and Ralph Clews made a wonderful series of Hudson River views in the 1830s, which is entitled "Picturesque Views". This 10-1/4" black transferware soup bowl is printed in one of the harder to find patterns, "Nr Jessups Landing Hudson River". I have always enjoyed this series as it opens a window onto the past. Other than two chips on the footrim (back), condition is excellent, and the print is sharper than my photos. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. I have more items in this series. |
