Made by J. Meigh & Son in Staffordshire (1812-1832), this 10" soup plate is printed in black with a deer. I hope someone can tell me what kind of deer. It could be a tropical deer, as there are palm trees in the background. However, the Staffordshire potters were not always known for their accuracy! The soup is part of a dinner service that depicts different animals on on each size and shape. I have 33 pieces in this service. The condition of this soup is excellent. Take a look at the photos for the details. I have six of these soups for sale!
