Made by J. Meigh & Son in Staffordshire (1812-1832), this 6-1/4" plate is printed in black with a skunk! What an odd animal for a plate! But, he is a very handsome skunk. This plate is part of a dinner service that depicts different animals on each size and shape. The birds in the border appear to be different on each size also. I have 33 pieces in this service. The condition of this plate is excellent. Take a look at the photos for the details. I have five skunk plates for sale, although two have some damage. They are priced accordingly.
