Circa: 1830 Manufacturer: Job Meigh & Son
Made by J. Meigh & Son in Staffordshire (1812-1832), this 12-1/2" by 9-3/4" open vegetable tureen or pie dish is printed in black with elks. There is a man in the background who is sitting in a boat-like sled, which is being pulled by an elk. There are more elk on a hill in the distance. If you like elk, this is the item for you! It is part of a dinner service that depicts different animals on each size and shape. The birds in the border appear to be different on each size also. I have 33 pieces in this service. The condition of this plate is excellent. Take a look at the photos for the details. |
