This lovely 4-1/2" jug is printed in purple and decorated with pink lustre. The pattern is unusual, as it pays tribute to "The English Bred Horse, "The Farmers (sic) Friend". The other side of the jug contains a verse that makes it clear that everything depends on the "spade and the plough" (and the horse). This is a charming jug. If you like horses and farming items, this is the jug for you! Other than a tiny nick on the spout, condition is excellent. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1830-1840. |
