This 9" Aesthetic Movement plate has everything you look for in a plate from this period. The pattern is asymmetrical and incorporates items from Japanese and English design. The kingfisher is framed in bamboo, which is encircled by English daisies! I particularly like the circle of pattern that looks as if it came from a kimono. The plate was made in Staffordshire around 1880. Condition is excellent.
