Manufacturer: Knight, Elkin & Co. This 10-1/4" red transferware plate was made by Knight, Elkin & Co. in Staffordshire around 1835. The title of the pattern is "Hannibal Passing the Alps", and his elephants, horses and men are seen in the central view as well as the reserves in the border. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, hairlines or restoration. The mark on the back is crisp and clear, not fuzzy like my photo! Take a look at all of the photos for the details. Please note that the red is more a cherry red than a fire engine red!
