This 16-1/2" by 12-1/4" pearlware platter was made in Staffordshire by Davenport around 1820. It is printed in medium blue with a Chinoiserie pattern that is really more of a transitional pattern between Chinese patterns and English patterns. Although the foliage appears Chinese, the buildings and people look quite English! Other than a tiny flake at the very edge of the platter at two o'clock, condition is excellent. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. |
