Made in Staffordshire around 1840, this 7-1/2" (to the top of the handle) jug is printed in pink, and painted in darker pink flowers and hunter green shamrocks. The hunter green also outlines the rim, footrim and handle. For accuracy, there is a "Y" shaped line near the waist of the jug, that does not go through to the inside. It is very difficult to see. There is also a bit of wear to the green on the inside tip of the handle. The jug is in excellent condition, nearly perfect! I have lots of Victorian Chintz jugs, but have never seen this pattern before. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. |
