Made around 1820 by Henshall & Co, this 9-1/2" pearlware soup is printed in a charming transitional pattern known as St. Albans. The pattern is transitional because of the juxtaposition of the Chinoiserie trees in the foreground and English castles and houses in the background. The border contains foliage and houses. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks or restoration. Take a look at the photos for details of this unusual pattern. |
