Circa: 1820 Manufacturer: Unknown Maker
This pearlware sauce tureen is 6-1/2" high to the top of the finial. It is printed in medium and dark blue with a lovely pattern entitled "British Flowers". The roses and leaves that form the finial and handles are highlighted in gold. The undertray is attached to the base of the tureen. Although appearance is excellent, there is some damage. The finial has been reattached, there is a 1/1/2" tight hairline on one side, there is a chip to one handle on the base, and one handle on the undertray has been damaged and glued together. Take a look at the photos for the details. The tureen was probably made in Staffordshire around 1825. |
