| This huge jug is 17" to the top of the handle and 16" from the handle to the spout! It is printed in light blue with a chintz or sheet pattern comprised of tiny flowers and leaves against a dotted background. The handle and lug handle (to help you hold this heavy jug)are beautifully molded. If you are looking for a rare and stunning item, this is the piece for you! Although appearance is excellent, there is damage. There are repairs to three places on the base of the jug. The color is not a perfect match. There is wear on both handles, but they have never been off. A tight hairline on the inside of the jug does not go through to the outside. Actually, the jug is in rather good shape! Take a look at the photos for the details. The jug was probably made in Staffordshire around 1840. It was made as a companion to a footbath. Imagine the weight when full of water! |
