The style of this 7" porcelain jug is known as Chelsea. It is decorated with lilac-purple flowers and leaves, as well as beads around the base. The handle and spout are outlined in black. The name, "Lenis, Taylor" and the date, "1828" are also painted in black. There is an extraordinary flourish under the date. It is possible that the jug was given as a wedding present. Other than a line in the base, that cannot be seen when the jug is standing, condition is excellent. Take a look at the photos for the details. |
