Circa: 1837 Manufacturer: Wood & Brownfield
Teapot, 11 inches from the handle to the spout and about 6 inches to the top of the finial. The teapot was made by Wood & Brownfield (1837-1850) in Staffordshire. The rococo shape, chinoiserie buildings and mille fleurs background make for the ultimate Romantic Staffordshire pattern. The peacock, for which the pattern is named, is in an oval cartouche on either side of the chinoiserie scene. Other than a chip to the end of the spout, condition is excellent. The handle and the finial are unusual. |
