Circa: 1845 Manufacturer: Bovey Tracey Potteries
Mug, 5 inches high by 3.25 inches in diameter. Shown here are three patterns depicting three of the seasons; Summer, Spring and Fall. Winter, not seen on this mug, shows people ice skating. The mug was used as a legal measure for a pint, probably in a pub. The pint mark is printed in black above the raking scene. The mug has the name "W. Rawling" printed in an oval on the bottom. The name may refer to the owner of the pub (I really haven't a clue!). The mug was made by the Bovey Tracey Potteries in Devon around 1845-1850. Condition is excellent. There are no cracks, chips or hairlines. |
