This category has cups, saucers and custards cups. I hang saucers around a door in my kitchen and put the cups on my dining room dresser. There are many ways to display these lovely items! Custard cups are punch cups and never came with a saucer.

RIDGWAY GIRL WITH CALF CUP & SAUCER 1825 Saucer, 6.25 inches and cup, 3.75 inches in diameter. This is a large cup and saucer. The pattern features a charming scene of a young girl petting a calf, although the animal could be a deer or sheep! It was made in Staffordshire by John & William Ridgway (1813-1830). The saucer in impressed "Ridgway" on the bottom. Both the cup and the saucer are in excellent antique condition. There is a minor chip on footrim (bottom) of the saucer and a minor chip on the footrim (bottom) of the cup. The chips cannot be seen when the cup and saucer are on the table. Take a look at all of the photos to see the details.
Circa: 1825

BLUE AND WHITE TRANSFER CUP/SAUCER WM. SMITH Made by William Smith & Co around 1830, this charming pattern is rather unusual. It contains two children (who vaguely look like adults), chickens, a dog, grapes and grape leaves. The saucer is 5 inches is diameter and the cup is 3 inches in diameter and 2 inches high. Condition is excellent, although there is a small spot below the two chicks in the saucer that was probably a burst bubble in-the-making. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. If you like unusual transferware patterns, this is the one for you!

CLEWS BLUE TRANSFERWARE CUP AND SAUCER 1825 This pearlware dark blue cup and saucer was made by James & Ralph Clews in Staffordshire around 1825. The pattern of a young girl holding a bouquet of flowers is quite uncommon. Although the color is dark blue, there is lots of contrast in the print. There are a few little bubbles in-the-making on the face of the saucer as well as a line on the back that doesn't go through to the front. The cup has an in-the-making spot near the bottom rim where it stuck to something in the kiln. Appearance is excellent, and there are no chips, cracks or repairs. Take a look at all of the photos for the details.

DARK BLUE TRANSFERWARE CUP AND SAUCER 1825 Made by William Adams in Staffordshire around 1825, this dark blue cup and sauce is printed with the pattern known as visit to my Lady's Bower. It is a very romantic scene! Except for a flaw on the outside rim of the cup where the pattern and glaze missed, condition is excellent. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. The last blurred photo is an attempt to show the impressed Adams mark.

Click for more detail...

04-4235

E. WOOD CUP & SAUCER CUPID SERIES 1825 Impressed "Wood" for Enoch Wood & Sons, this dark blue pearlware cup and saucer was made in Staffordshire around 1825. The pattern is most interesting and untitled. There is a dinner plate in this series with cupid behind bars and another dinner plate with a child wearing glasses surrounded by his toys. This does not sound like a theme! The cup and saucer are from a rarely seen tea service which has cupid behind bars on the teapot. The woman behind bars on the saucer is perhaps Psyche who was married to cupid. She was quite unhappy as the only thing she couldn't have in her marriage was to know who her husband was! Actually, that sounds like a lot to me! Maybe the bars are symbolic of Psyche's separation from her husband. I'd like to say "whatever" but that would be too trite. The saucer is 5-3/4"" and the cup is 3-1/4" in diameter and 2-1/2" high. There is a tiny bit of untensil wear on the saucer. The cup is in excellent condition with only a nick on the base ring which cannot be seen when the cup is on the table. Appearance of both pieces is excellent. Take a look at the photos for the details.

99-2714

PEARLWARE BLUE TRANSFERWARE CUP/SAUCER 1825 Known as Birds of Prey, this pearlware cup and 5-1/2" saucer is printed with eagles and other birds of prey. The form is lovely with a scalloped edge on the cup and saucer. The two pieces are being sold as is. There are hairlines in the saucer and the cup. Look at the photos--there are five--for details. The pieces are beautifully printed and the pattern is rare. They display much better than the condition sounds. The cup and saucer were made in Staffordshire around 1825.
