SALOPIAN COW POLISHER TRANSFER COFFEE POT Coffee pot, 10 inches high. Variously known as the Cow Polisher or Burnishing a Cow, this pattern features a charming country scene decorated with underglaze polychrome known to Americans as Salopian. The print is also found in blue and white transferware. It is hard to tell what the man is using to polish or groom the cow. Other than a tiny hairline near the finial, condition is excellent.

BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATE REGINA 1840 This 10" brown transferware plate was probably made by John Ridgway in Staffordshire around 1840-1850. It is entitled "Regina" which means "queen". The printed mark on the bak contains all of the symbols of Great Britain, as well as the crown. The front of the plate has some lovely birds and roses surrounded by a lace-like inner border and a pin-striped outer border. The outer border looks like the fabric of a man's coat on which Sleeping Beauty's rose thicket has grown!
