11-5673

RIDGWAY YELLOW AND BROWN TRANSFER TEAPOT Teapot, around 8 inches to the top of the final and 11 inches from the handle to the spout. The yellow and brown transfer-print of a European scene is complemented by a floral border as well as flowers on the handle and the spout. The pattern was made in Staffordshire by John Ridgway (1830-1841) and is titled "Villa". There is a tight hairline that runs for two inches near the bottom of the handle and a tight Y-shaped hairline on one side of the pot. Both hairlines are difficult to see. Appearance is excellent. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. If you are looking for an unusual teapot to lend interest to your collection, this is the item for you!

Entitled "Etruscan Festoon", it was made around 1835 by William Ridgway. Things Etruscan were the rage in the 1830s, but the pattern is actually a lovely floral print. 02-3876

TWO COLOR TRANSFER FESTOON BORDER PL 1835 Enoch Wood & Sons did many variations on two color plates. This 8-1/4" plate is printed in chocolate brown and dark red in the popular Festoon Border Series. As the border contains suspension bridges, sometimes the pattern is called Suspension Bridges. Take a look at the photos to see the bridges as all the bridges are different. I'd love to know the name of the cathdral in the center of the plate. Condition is excellent. It was made in Staffordshire around 1835.
